Jan 10 (Sun) 7:00 pm-9:00 p.m. LECTURE (ONLINE) SARAH LUTTRELL ON BIRDSONG. Acoustic communication is important for birds. Luckily for us, bird and human hearing ranges largely overlap, allowing us to key in on this communication channel for general enjoyment, and for better birding. Sarah Luttrell is a research assistant in the Feather Identification Lab at the Smithsonian Institution. She has a background in bioacoustics and using bird sounds to help understand evolution in North American Birds. Sarah will talk about the natural history of bird sounds and how we can use songs and calls to enhance our birding experience.

This presentation will be delivered online using Zoom. Attendance at the Zoom session is limited to 100 people. If you wish to attend the Zoom session, please enter your email address below and click the "Submit" button.
